Agonda beach is a long and lonely, fringed with palms and casuarinas and dominated by a large hill to the south. If a person is looking for some quiet moments, Goa Agonda beach is the place to be.

This beach is special because you will find absolutely no tourists, no souvenir stalls no restaurants, nothing just the trees, the beach and the beautiful ocean and you.

It also makes for a great trip from Colva and Cavelossim. For real adventure, hire a tent and camp for the night, listening to the crashing of the sea waves.

Goa Agonda beach can be reached by driving about twenty minutes north from Palolem or by the road from Assolna and Cabo De Rama. The motorbike is the best way to get to the place.

The Agonda beach in Goa however is not too safe for weak swimmers as it has a strong undertow. For accommodation there are a few places to stay. However there are some good restaurants found around the place that serve some of the best seafood in the village.

The Anjuna beach in Goa is known for its full-moon (acid house) parties. Held for and by young tourists, these parties have attracted thousands of tourists. The trance party with dance, frolic, and merriment goes all night besides the fire. It is just the right place for lazing holidaymakers. Besides the calm waters of the Arabian Sea lapping softly on the Indian shore, Anjuna comes live with its ever-famous full-moon parties and the Wednesday flea market to take one onto a trance trip.

Anjuna Beach has been the haunt of the flower generation in the sixties and is now popular with the younger generations. It became popular because of its Trance Parties and the Hippies who tried to fuse the Eastern spiritual traditions with Western Music, ideas and art.
Anjuna is a small village in north Goa and is popularly called the freak capital in the world. Its significant tourist spots are the magnificent Albuquerque Mansion built in 1920 the Mascarenhas Mansion, and the Chapora fort.

Every Wednesday, at around 11 a.m., Anjuna breaks into a riot of colors. Lines of vehicles full of tourists start virtually raising clouds of dust in this area. Whatever one needs, from a used paperback to a haircut, one would find it here. The flea market is a heaven for hardcore shoppers and good bargainers, to bid on wonderful blends of Tibetan, Kashmiri and Gujarati trinkets and handicrafts, European snacks, cassettes of a noisy brand of music called 'Goa Trance', artificial ornaments carvings and T-shirts. An elephant ride and a photograph with a fake sadhu or a fake snake charmer can also be found here.
There are plenty of guest houses around the village, and even a couple of hotels. Someone planning a longer stay should look out for 'To Let' signs, as there are plenty of houses that are available on rent along the back lanes

Ashwem Beach situated south to the Arambol beach is another isolated beach in Goa where one can see vast stretches of sands until you arrive at a place that has some beach shacks and huts midway along the beach. There are a number of restaurants in the area that serve sumptuous seafood.

The Goa Ashwem beach has its own idyllic charm and is quite appealing, as it is a very quiet and clean place. Even the waters are safe for swimming. In reality the coastline is one long, palm-fringed delight the powdery sands – usually silver, occasionally dusted Golden – only interrupted from time to time by inlets, estuaries or headland. Whether secluded and peaceful or broad and lively, they exist for all to enjoy for none are private.

To get around Ashwem it is best if one hires a bike, as the buses from Mapusa and Panjim are irregular. For accommodation there are some basic huts and tree houses in Ashwem.

Goa's Baga beach is a small but perfect beach located between its two more famous cousins, Anjuna on one side and Calangute on the other. It is a good place to enjoy some quite moments and dwell in peaceful contemplation with oneself.

The Baga River flows down from one side offering a pleasant for children and those who love the water but can't risk the rip currents that swirl round the mouth, where the river and the sea meet and on the far right bank, tourists at Baga beach will see a group of black rocks against which the sea crashes.

One of the favourite beach in bardez side and a tourist attraction. This beach is famous for having salty bath for many people in Goa over the year, as this river has heavy waves among all the other beaches.

Betalbatim beach in Goa is situated just two km north to Colva and is a beach that has stretches of Golden sands where one can relax with the sound of swaying palms and the shimmering waters of the Arabian Sea.

One can see a lot of dolphins in the area and usually there are local fishermen that take you for a dolphin trip. For accommodation one can find a number of beach resorts and guest houses in Betalbatim. There are also a number of hotels and restaurants that serve some tasty Goan dishes and drinks.

Calangute Beach in Goa is also known as the Queen of Beaches. The period from November to February is the most pleasant to visit here. It is 15km from the capital city Panjim. The Calangute beach is usually crowded and the small resorts thrive in business during the holiday season. It is one of the most popular beach in Goa with a host of facilities to cater to visitors, including Golden sand along the beach and water sports.

Calangute beach lies on the shores of the Arabian Sea of North Goa in India. Calangute is the most popular holiday destination in Goa. Excellent accommodation facilites are available, particularly at the tourist resorts and cottages. It has also become a good investment plan to buy properties in Goa.

The beach in Calangute is also the perfect tourist haven, completed with shacks and stalls under the shade of palm trees selling everything from fried prawns and beer, to trinkets made of seashells. Its rainbow hued canvas has welcomed everyone to it always although it became popular across the globe only after the hippies discovered it in the 60's.

Calangute's nightlife is surprisingly tame and provides a nice break from the wild parties at Anjuna. All but a handful of the bars wind up by 10.00 pm. One notable exception is Tito's at the Baga end of the beach, which stays open until after midnight in the off-season and into the small hours of the morning in late December and January.

Dona Paula beach is located just about 7-km from Panaji. This place is called the Lovers Paradise in Goa, named after Dona Paula de Menezes. A myth has been attached to this place and according one legend the Viceroy's daughter after facing objections from her family about her love affair with a poor fisherman jumped of the cliff.
The beach is named after Dona Paula de Menzes, daughter of a viceroy ,who threw herself off the cliff, when refused permission to marry a local fisherman, Gaspar Dias. The myth says that Dona Paula is entombed in the Cabo Chapel of the Raj Bhawan and is supposed to be seen emerging from the moonlit waves wearing only a pearl necklace. With the romance and myth attached to it—haunted by Dona Paula de Menzes—tourists throng the Dona Paula Beach not only in search of the deceased beloved, but also to indulge in water sports on the clear waters. The Dona Paula Beach offers an opportunity to the tourists to have a sunbath and buy cheap seaside goods from local vendors.

The Hollant beach in Goa attracts huge crowds of visitors and tourists. It is known to be the only beach in Goa where one can see a sunrise. Those visiting Bogmalo beach never miss this magnificent beach.

The Hollant beach, 2 km away offers beautiful views encompassing the main southern beaches of Goa, along with the foothills of the Western Ghats. The Goa beach resorts here have an excellent choice in restaurants and the cafes near the Park Plaza are also good. Seafood from the cuisine of Goa and India is a particular specialty.

Vasco's other beach is Bogmalo (8 km), next to the airport. Just a little away is the tiny, quiet Issorcim or Hollant beach. Apart from the islands off Vasco, the other place worth a visit is the Chapel of Three Kings atop a hill at the nearby village of Velsao (15 km).

Apart from the serenity and the view, the sunset is really spectacular here. The chapel is the site of the rare Feast of Three Kings, celebrated on 6 January after the 12th night of Christmas at Cansaulim with a pageantry procession of the three kings who traverse the village on horseback from the church on a hilltop. A fair is also held at the church grounds.

Majorda beach situated in the Salcete taluka is among the southern beaches of Goa. It is a beautiful beach that has a lot of palm groves. Some of the most famous hotels and resorts of Goa are found here and thus it is quite a popular place for a holiday. This south Goa beach also has a number of restaurants and beach shacks that serve up tasty dishes from the cuisine of Goa, Europe and India.

Majorda is also the place where the Jesuits discovered the best toddy of Goa who used it to leaven the bread. Even today the people of Majorda are known to be the best bakers of Goa as they were the first to know the art of baking European breads.

There are a lot of buses that run daily by the help of which one can get to Majorda. From the Dabolim airport also one can get into transfer buses that take you there. Also a number of taxis are available to get to Majorda.

The Velsao beach lies on the southern coast of Goa and is one of the most vivacious tourist destinations in the beach capital of India. This small stretch of sandy beach is easily accessible as it lies in between Bogmalo beach on the north and the Majorda and the Colva beach on the south. The beach also makes an excellent day trip from the other beaches of Goa.

Velsao beach is also considered a storehouse of natural treasures. The pure air on the beach, the cool breezes and the warm waters create a perfect backdrop for a picture.
